1.7 Stakeholder engagement

This action is led by Tania Hodges JP who is focused on staff and iwi and Te Taumata Aronui, the iwi leaders education group. Board support for Tania comes from Maryann Geddes, whose focus is apprentices and trainees; Brett O’Riley, focused on employers and industry; Dr Linda Sissons CNZM for ITOs and WDCs; and Dr Sandra Grey for ITP students.

What's been done

A stakeholder engagement model has been refined and adopted by Establishment Board. Note: the stakeholder engagement model will be continually updated as stakeholder relationships develop through the transition phase of the project.

We're taking advantage of every opportunity to engage broadly with stakeholders, ensuring this work is aligned with the wider Reform of Vocational Education programme. These meetings provide valuable opportunity for us to build relationships, receive feedback, and answer questions.

From August – December 2019, we’ve held and attended more than 50 meetings with stakeholders across the regions. These have been in the form of professional forums, workshops, working groups, Chief Executive and Chair meetings, industry meetings, and union meetings.

Stakeholders are also welcome to contact us directly with questions or feedback by emailing our enquiries Inbox.

From 30 January to 14 February we travelled to 16 locations and held 'Regional Kōrero' hui, hosted by each ITP, to share a progress update and start a conversation on the Board's preferred name. Read more on our news page(external link).

We held a Marketing Forum at Ara Institute in Christchurch for ITP and ITO marketing leaders on February 21. Read about the first Marketing Forum here(external link).
