functionsThis deliverable has a specific focus on the design and development of functions of the new Institute post 1 April 2020. Seven IST Development working groups will recommend how to prioritise and implement key aspects of the reform programme.

This action is led by Brett O’Riley, Dr Linda Sissons, and Dr Sandra Grey.

What's been done

We've put together seven working groups comprised of diverse sector experts to help us get this right. We've met with the Chairs of each group who will facilitate a co-design process for each of their workstreams.

What we're working on this month

Principal advisors are supporting the facilitators of each group with the relationships, tools, and infrastructure to facilitate the co-design process for their workstreams. Each group has met at least once and we expect they will have come together two to three times before the end of the year.

Coming up

We'll continue our co-design work with stakeholders across the vocational education sector through the seven workstreams.

December 2019-January 2020

Working groups will prepare preliminary recommendations from their co-design work. Activities will be prioritised and early wins will be identified.

February 2020

Recommendations will be considered by the Establishment Board with decisions carried forward to the new Council of the IST.
